I just got the message that my stitching for the Sampler Rabbit Exchange at the Legacy BB board arrived at Melanie, so I may post pictures.

I stitched a part of the Bunny Sampler by Threads Through Time and mounted it at the center of a Thread Keeper. It´s stitched in tent stitch with Vikki Clayton silks on 32 count linen.

And here´s a close up of the stitching. In the alphabete I added a little house by Bright Needle.

I started the 18th century part of the Threads Through Time sewing roll. It´s designed by Ellen Chester (With my Needle).

I try to do a little stitching on it every week, so hopefully it will be finished till the end of the year.

Today I got again a wonderful package from Jodi. She sent some lovely springfully fabric, ribbons for finishing and...... another thread keeper. This oval shape is really lovely to stitch a little design on it.

And she sent me a picture of one of the newest designs.... a lovely bunny. As I love rabbits I definitely have to order this. Slowly my thread keeper collection is growing :-)!!

It doesn´t look like spring here in my region this year. It´s still snow here and it´s way too cold for spring. I´m so waiting for a warmer season.

I just found a picture which was taken about 18 years ago in spring. It shows my daughter when she was one year old. She will become 19 this year. I like this picture it looks so "springfully".

I just bought this box. It´s made only from boiled birch bark.

I like the look of this nature product, it´s made without nails and usually used to store bread inside. But I think it can be used for storeing  threads or stitching tools too.

It´s really a good feeling to touch this box. It feels very "lively" with the typical look of bark.

Today I finished my ornament for March. I stitched one of the Ornamentals II by the Historical Needlework Guild.

A finish is a finish, also when it´s really small :-). So I think I´ll hold on this goal to stitch one seasonal ornament a month.

That was the first time that I used a trimmed silk ribbon for the finishing, and I really like how it came along. I surely will use this way of finishing again.

If you sometimes read my blog, maybe you will know that I love antique sewing accessories.

Today I want to share with you pictures of my "Nähkästchens". Nähkästchen is a very usual word in German, maybe I can translate it into English with  "small sewing box".

I have some of them, but here are pictures of  the ones which I have in use. All of them are pieces of inheritance.

Here´s my sewing table (before I filled it with all the materials I need for finishing) :-)!!!

And here I started to display my stitching smalls. The box has a painting of a hunter scene inside, and I really like it.

And last but not least here´s the small box where I store my beads.

I love especially the top of the box which is made.........??? I really don´t know exactely, but it looks like bone or mother of perles??

I´ll take pictures of my other sewing boxes over the weekend. Maybe I´ll find some more to use or to display :-)!

This weekend I did a little progress on my Catherine Agnes by Indigo Rose. I added two more spots and started the border and stitched one corner. After the spots are done, I think it will be finished soon. I really like Indigo Rose designs, and have to think about which one to start next :-)!

Vendredi 3 mars 2006

In March I joined a SAL for the Paradise Garden by Viginie Menzildjian. I´m stitching on 40 count linen and I decided to use silks from my stash. I really have a lot of overdyed silks, but never those which I need for a current project :-), maybe some of you know this :-)!!

So first I tried to find some similiar silks, but then I decided to use simple silks to my flavour and silks which will go well with the overall look. As it´s a Paradies Garden , I think this will work and so I´ll create my own special Paradise :-). My garden surely will become a more pastell look. I will stitch the pink house, because I really like the idea of Monets house. I hope I´ll be satisfied with the result.

Here´s my progress so far
